Who I am
I’m a small‑animal surgeon (MANZCVS, Small Animal Surgery) offering advanced, in‑clinic stifle and general surgical support to veterinary practices from Bundaberg to the Gold Coast and inland to Kingaroy.
I developed my surgical skills while running a general practice on the Atherton Tablelands, where specialist referral was often impractical. Managing a high volume of complex surgical cases in a rural setting — and regularly travelling to Brisbane for workshops and case consultations with specialist surgeons — taught me practical, evidence‑based approaches to difficult problems. That experience, combined with formal surgical training and ANZCVS membership attainment after selling my practice, means I pair hands‑on rural experience with recognised surgical credentialing.
My approach is straightforward and collaborative: I work alongside your team to deliver safe surgery, clear communication and practical post‑op plans that preserve continuity of care at your clinic. I’m comfortable making intra‑operative decisions, managing concurrent findings, and tailoring anaesthesia and analgesia to each patient.
Outside work I’m a keen cyclist, telemark skier and traveller, and father of two energetic boys. I own a red Kelpie named Roy and a red Kombi named Gavin.
