Technically demanding surgery.
Straightforward to organise.
Stifle Surgeons helps veterinary practices provide advanced orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery within their own hospital, supported by complete case review, surgical planning, owner communication, procedure-specific workflows, surgery, reporting and postoperative support.
About me
After seven years running a regional general practice, I understand the challenges involved in providing advanced surgery within a busy veterinary hospital. The operation itself is only one part of the job. Case assessment, surgical planning, owner communication, anaesthesia, equipment, theatre preparation, postoperative care and follow-up all need to work together.
I developed Stifle Surgeons to make that process easier for general practices.
I provide advanced orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery across Wide Bay, Fraser Coast, the Sunshine Coast and greater South-East Queensland, working within your hospital and alongside your veterinary team. Each case is supported from initial review through surgical planning, owner communication, surgery, reporting and postoperative care.
The aim is simple: your practice retains the patient and the client relationship, while gaining the systems and surgical support needed to manage technically demanding cases confidently.
A visiting surgeon should reduce your workload, not add to it.
Services
Stifle Surgeons provides in-house surgical support for practices wanting to manage technically demanding cases without automatically referring them away.
Cases range from routine TPLOs and patellar luxation correction to fracture repair, complex orthopaedics, BOAS surgery and advanced soft tissue procedures. If you have a case that is beyond what you would normally undertake in general practice, send it through for review.
Each case is assessed individually to determine whether it can be appropriately managed within your hospital and what will be required to make that happen.

Stifle surgery is the core focus of Stifle Surgeons, with procedures including:
• TPLO for cranial cruciate ligament disease
• Patellar luxation correction
• Meniscal surgery
• Extracapsular stabilisation where appropriate
• Revision and complex stifle surgeryCases are reviewed before scheduling, including clinical history and diagnostic imaging, allowing the procedure, implants and equipment to be planned in advance.
If the diagnosis or most appropriate treatment is uncertain, send the case through for review before committing to a particular procedure.
-
A wide range of advanced orthopaedic procedures can be safely performed within general practice, including:
• Fracture repair
• Femoral head and neck excision
• Hip toggle stabilisation
• Arthrodesis
• Selected corrective osteotomies
• Implant removal and revision surgery
• Other complex orthopaedic proceduresIf you have an orthopaedic case that would usually be referred, send the history and diagnostic imaging through for review. I can assess whether it is suitable for surgery within your practice and identify the equipment, implants and preparation required.
-
Advanced soft tissue and airway procedures can also be performed within general practice, including:
• BOAS surgery
• Perineal urethrostomy
• Perineal hernia repair
• Salivary mucocele surgery
• Cholecystectomy
• Gastrointestinal surgery
• Prophylactic gastropexy
• Other advanced soft tissue procedures by case assessmentThis list is not exhaustive. If you have a surgical case that would normally be referred, get in touch to discuss whether it can be managed within your practice.
Why work with Stifle Surgeons
Stifle Surgeons has been designed to make technically demanding surgery straightforward to organise, easy to delegate and predictable to deliver. Case review, surgical planning, owner communication, procedure-specific workflows, surgery, reporting and postoperative support all work together as a single system.
Rather than asking your practice to adapt to the surgeon, the service is designed to fit naturally into the way general practice already works. Your team retains the patient and the client relationship, while gaining the surgical support needed to confidently expand the range of procedures your practice can offer.
